Anchorage · Old Seward

One dog at a time.
Groomed by Kristin.

White Paw is a small, calm grooming salon on the Old Seward in Anchorage — no kennels, no overbooking. Kristin works one dog at a time, start to finish. Anxious dogs, seniors, and first-timers welcome.

Phones answered during salon days. If we’re mid-groom we’ll call you right back — usually within the hour.

What we do

Six things, done unhurried.

We don’t package mystery “deluxe” tiers. Pick what your dog needs. Most full grooms run two to three hours because no one is being rushed through.

  • 01

    Full bath & blow-out

Warm-water bath, gentle shampoo matched to coat type, hand-fluff dry — no kennel cages, no hot box. Calm rooms, the whole way through.

  • 02

    Hand-scissored haircut

Breed-standard or family pet — your call. Kristin hand-finishes faces, feet and tails so the cut looks soft, not stamped out.

  • 03

    Nails, pads & sanitary

Quick-trim with a grinder finish so nothing snags carpet. Pad shave, sanitary tidy, paw-balm rub. In and out in under thirty minutes.

  • 04

    De-shed treatment

Built for Alaska double coats — huskies, malamutes, shepherds. Undercoat rake, high-velocity blow-out, conditioning soak. Less fur on the couch for weeks.

  • 05

    Ear & teeth care

Gentle ear flush and pluck where needed, brush-and-paste teeth clean. Add-on to any bath; we’ll skip it if your dog says no.

  • 06

    First-groom for puppies

A short, no-pressure introduction visit. Water, dryer, clipper sound, the table. Goal is a dog who likes coming back — not a perfect cut on day one.

From the salon

How a good groom actually looks.

Hands in the water, eye on the dog, no production line in the background. That’s the whole pitch.

We groom dogs from all over the bowl.

White Paw is a drop-off salon on the Old Seward. You drop your dog, we call when ready. Most clients drive in from these neighborhoods — but anywhere within reach of Anchorage is welcome.

About Kristin

I groom the way I’d want
someone to groom my dog.

White Paw is a one-groomer salon, on purpose. There are no stacked cages, no second chair, no production schedule. Your dog is the only dog on my table from the moment they walk in to the moment you pick them up.

Most of the dogs I see are nervous about something — clippers, the dryer, a bad memory from a chain. We slow down for those. The goal of a first visit isn’t a show cut, it’s a dog who’s willing to come back.

If your dog is older, blind, deaf, three-legged, recovering from something, or just hates being held — tell me on the phone. We’ll figure out the right pace together.

What people call about

Honest answers to the questions that hit the phone line.

  • Pricing depends on coat type, size and condition — a smooth-coat dachshund and a matted golden are not the same job. Call (907) 764-0046 with your dog's breed and approximate weight and you'll get a real number, not a range.

Reserve a slot

Easiest is a call — but this works too.

Tell me a little about your dog and the best number to reach you. I’ll call back the same salon day with available slots and a real price.
